White Lake property owners are a part of a Special Assessment District to cover the cost of lake services. The district is comprised of approximately 1600 property owners located on, or having deeded access to White Lake in the Townships of White Lake and Highland in Oakland County, Michigan. The Special Assessment is added to the "Winter" tax bill.
The 2024-2026 assessment rates were as follows:
- Lakefront properties: $148 per year
- Lake access properties: $18 per year
- Lake access w/dockage: $36 per year
- Commercial properties: $350 per year
- Marinas: $98 per slip per year

- Lakefront properties: $148 per year
- Lake access properties: $18 per year
- Commercial properties: $350 per year
- Marinas: $49 per slip per year
The 2018-2020 assessment rates were as follows:
- Lakefront properties: $165 per year
- Lake access properties: $20 per year
- Commercial properties: $400 per year
The 2013-2017 assessment rates were as follows:
- Lakefront properties: $210 per year
- Lake access properties: $25 per year
- Commercial properties: $515 per year
The 2010-2012 assessment rates were as follows:
- Lakefront properties: $150 per year
- Lake access properties: $18 per year
- Commercial properties: $368 per year
The 2006-2009 assessment rates were as follows:
- Lakefront properties: $150 per year
- Lake access properties: $25 per year
- Commercial properties: $500 per year
