Lake Information

White Lake is nestled between White Lake and Highland Townships, located in Western Oakland County, one of the fastest growing counties in Michigan. White Lake is bordered by M-59 on the South, Ormond Road on the East, Jackson Blvd on the North and Duck Lake Road on the West. The Eastern portion of the lake is part of White Lake Township while the Western portion is part of Highland Township. Lakes, hills, farmland, large parcels of state recreation areas, and county parks comprise the surrounding areas. White Lake is conveniently located within close proximity to four major highways; M-59, I-96, US-23, and I-75, making it an easy commute to shopping or work.

Some Facts about White Lake:

• White Lake has approximately 540 acres of lake and 84 acres of islands
• The 84 acres of islands are comprised of the Seven Harbors Subdivision and two smaller private islands featuring hardwood and pine trees
• There are 40,616 feet of shoreline or approximately 7.69 miles
• There are approximately 600 lakefront properties and 1000 lake access properties
• The mean depth of the lake is 12.3 feet; the deepest spot is over 30 feet
• The Lake is part of the Huron River watershed, which drains into Lake Erie. The watershed area for the White Lake is only 1,253 acres (A normal watershed area is a 12-to-one ratio to lake acres, or over 6,000 acres in this case).
• The legal level of the lake is 1019.1 feet above sea level (1018.6' during the winter).

• White Lake is a four season, all-sports lake
• The lake bottom is fibrous peat, pulpy peat, sand, and rocks
• There is one public boat launch with 18 parking spaces regulated by the Michigan DNR
